MJHS Hospice Keeps the Rhythm Alive!
Meet John Shapiro
John Shapiro is honored with the Philanthropic Leadership Award for his extraordinary generosity and commitment to the MJHS Foundation.
He enjoyed a distinguished career at Morgan Stanley & Co. from 1984 to 2008, ultimately serving as Global Head of Commodities and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. He previously held positions at Conoco, Inc., and New England Merchants National Bank, and currently serves as Senior Advisor at Mountain Capital Partners.
In 2022, John created the Charity Care Fund in memory of his wife. The Fund ensures hospice services are available to those in need, regardless of ability to pay. Since then, he has been one of MJHS’s largest contributors and has matched our year-end campaign for two consecutive years.
John holds an MBA from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Princeton University. He also serves on the boards of Citymeals-on-Wheels and the Ogunquit Museum of American Art, and has lectured at institutions including Princeton, Harvard, HEC Paris, and Oxford.
